Frequently Asked Questions

We are a small grass root organization and can’t afford to pay for a photographer. Can you donate your time?

Ahh….I understand that dilemma very well, having run my own non-profit for years. Reach out and I can share with you how an investment in quality imagery will have such a significant impact on your donations, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. But, no I don’t donate my time. A photography business is just that, a business. It’s how I make a living. It requires education, workshops, website & marketing, travel expenses, insurance and lots of equipment…..and I need income to make it all work. Each job is priced on a case by case basis, but I am confident we can find a perfect solution that works for you.

We love your photos but struggle with how to put words with photos and effectively share on social media. Do you offer any training or help with this?

Absolutely!! I can provide on site training or training via Skype for you and your staff. You know your organization and the people you serve better than anyone else and within a couple of hours you will be well on your way to sharing your story effectively with the world.

How long will it take to get our photos after an assignment?

It all depends on the length of the assignment. One day assignments typically have a 7 day turn around for initial previews, with a 14 day turn around for final images. Ten day assignments typically have a 30-45 day turnaround for final images. If there is an urgent need for specific photographs, please let men know and I’ll try and make that deadline.

Do we have to pay for your travel expenses to get to our city or country?

I cover my travel expenses from the US to your city or country. Local transportation to and from the NGO offices or field visits are typically provided by the organization at their cost.

Do we get a copy of all the photos you take and can we make our own edits to the photos?

You will receive final edited images only, with no watermarking. As an artist, I personally edit every photo I take, putting my personal style on my work. Images can not be altered, edited or modified, unless those changes are made by me. All files are sent to you in a .jpg format, typically shared with you through Dropbox. I can also provide you a USB with all photos.
